Project presented by Jeanine Colozza of CNP and Russ Karll of Wagner Signs as a restoration of the existing marquee of a landmarked theater.

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

  • How much of the original framework will be used?
  • Will all of the changeable copy text remain?
  • Will you still keep the individual lighting system under the marquee?
  • How much of the original neon can still be re-used?  All fo the wthie neon will have to be replaced because of the mercury content, but they will try to re-use as much of the red neon as possible.
  • Does the lettering have a return?
  • Are there any issues with drainage on the roof of the marquee?

Councilman Polensek is available for comment and to state his support for the project.  He did have questions about why the LED message boards were removed.  He'd like to encourage the LED message centar at later date because it can be used as a source of revenue for advertising and promoting other community events.

Motion to approve the marquee as presented witha temporary panel understanding that the intent is to upgrade to a LED message board in the near future.
